La Morale De Nietzsche

A philosophical exposition written in the early 20th century. This work delves into the moral philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche, focusing particularly on his critique of anarchism and the implications of his thoughts on morality and civilization. Lasserre aims to present a sympathetic yet critical interpretation of Nietzsche's ideas, shedding light on their historical and philosophical significance. The opening of this work introduces Lasserre's motivations for revisiting his earlier study on Nietzsche, originally published in 1903, as he reflects on its themes in the context of contemporary philosophical discourse. He establishes the foundation of Nietzsche's thought, asserting that civilization is defined by the moral conduct it inspires. Emphasizing the necessity of discipline and the cultivation of one's instincts, Lasserre discusses the inherent conflict within the human spirit and Nietzsche's perspective on the will to power. The author critiques the prevailing interpretations of Nietzsche as purely nihilistic or anarchistic, proposing instead that Nietzsche's philosophy embodies a complex understanding of morality that transcends simplistic definitions and addresses deeper existential challenges posed by modernity.
