La Bufera

La Bufera, written by Edoardo Calandra and first published in 1952, is a novel set in late 19th century Italy. It explores the lives of aristocratic characters, particularly Countess Polissena and Cavalier Telemaco Mazel, against the backdrop of societal changes following revolutions. The narrative delves into themes of love, social stratification, and the conflicts arising from shifting loyalties as the old aristocracy grapples with the rise of the bourgeoisie. The story vividly depicts the social dynamics of the time, particularly through the interactions at the estate of Robelletta.
