L'odyssée D'un Transport Torpillé

L'odyssée d'un transport torpillé, published in 1917 by Maurice Larrouy, is an epistolary novel set during World War I, chronicling the experiences of the cargo ship Pamir and its crew. Through a series of letters written between August 1914 and January 1917, the second-in-command recounts their perilous missions, including transporting troops and supplies across dangerous waters. The narrative highlights the growing dangers of naval warfare, particularly the escalation of submarine warfare, and reflects the frustrations of merchant crews feeling abandoned amidst the chaos of war. This work won the Prix Femina in 1917, shedding light on a largely overlooked aspect of the conflict.
