Key Out of Time (version 2)
Time Agents Ross Murdock and Gordon Ashe arrive on Hawaika, a tropical planet that should be paradise but holds only the bones of a civilization that mastered time travel and then annihilated itself. Their routine assignment derails when they're stranded in the planet's past, caught between the last survivors of that doomed super-race, fierce native populations, and an alien force hungry for Hawaika's secrets. Their only allies are Karara, a Polynesian girl displaced through time, and her intelligent dolphins Tino-rau and Taua - beings with their own culture, their own language, their own reasons for helping. What begins as a survival mission becomes something stranger: a meditation on what endures when empires fall, what intelligence means beyond the human, and whether strangers from different worlds can learn to trust each other before it's too late. Norton builds her adventure with quiet conviction, letting the wonder and the danger unfold at their own pace.
