In Dingsda

What if you could bring a secret companion to school, and no one would ever know? When Rita stuffs Machin into her backpack, she thinks she's found the perfect hiding spot for her mysterious friend. But Machin has other plans. As Rita tries to focus on her lessons, her invisible companion embarks on a campaign of playful chaos throughout the school corridors. Teachers wonder why pencils go missing. Classmates swear they saw a door close by itself. And Rita must decide whether to protect Machin or confess to the mounting mayhem. Set in a turn-of-the-century European schoolroom, this mischievous tale captures the universal childhood fantasy of having a secret ally who operates just beyond adult detection. It's a story about the thrill of getting away with something, the bond between a child and her imagined companion, and the small rebellions that make school memorable.
