I'll Kill You Tomorrow

A nurse arrives for her first night shift in a maternity ward that should be a sanctuary of new life. Instead, she discovers something fundamentally wrong with the newborns in her care. Something is waiting inside these infants, ancient and patient, hungry to emerge. The children look perfect, cry at normal intervals, grasp her finger with tiny hands. But behind their flawless exteriors, parasitic entities have already begun to settle in, preparing their young hosts for a purpose the nurse cannot yet comprehend. When she tries to warn the doctors, she finds the hospital staff either complicit or helpless against an invasion that has already succeeded. The horror builds toward an unbearable question: can you destroy something that wears the face of innocence? Huber writes with creeping dread and 1950s sci-fi conviction, transforming the most vulnerable space in medicine into a nightmare. The story gains its power from the collision between the sterile, clinical setting and the cosmic corruption at work within it. For readers who want their science fiction to feel like existential horror.
