History of Standard Oil: Volume 1
History of Standard Oil: Volume 1, written by journalist Ida M. Tarbell in 1904, is an exposé of the Standard Oil Company, led by John D. Rockefeller. Originally published in McClure's magazine, it is a landmark work of muckraking journalism that scrutinizes monopolistic practices in the oil industry. The book played a significant role in raising public awareness about corporate abuses and contributed to the eventual breakup of Standard Oil in 1911. This volume does not include any of the 36 appendices.
