History of Rome, volume 4
The History of Rome (Ab Urbe Condita) is a monumental work by the Roman historian Titus Livius, written between 27 and 9 BC. This fourth volume continues the narrative from the legendary arrival of Aeneas through to the early Roman Empire, concluding with the death of Drusus. Only 35 of the original 142 books survive, making this account a crucial source for understanding Rome's early history. This translation by Rev Canon William Masfen Roberts is part of the Everyman's Library Collection.
