History of Rome, volume 1
The History of Rome (Ab Urbe Condita) is a monumental work by the Roman historian Titus Livius, written between 27 and 9 BC. It chronicles the history of Rome from its legendary founding by Aeneas and the Trojans to the early days of the Roman Empire under Augustus, concluding with the death of Drusus. Although Livy originally composed 142 books, only 35 have survived. This translation by Rev Canon William Masfen Roberts is part of the Everyman's Library Collection.
