Harum Scarum's Fortune

Toney Whitburn is about to turn twenty-one and inherit a fortune that will remake her entire world. She's spent her life carefree and unburdened, but as her coming-of-age celebration approaches, a creeping anxiety settles in: will her friends love her any less when money enters the equation? Will she become one of those hollow heiresses she's always mocked at dinner parties? Her aunt Lady Dove provides a stark contrast, all rigid propriety and careful calculation, while Toney's companion Lewis Waycott seems to see her more clearly than anyone else. This is a story about what happens when a carefree young woman must suddenly become a woman of substance, and whether she can hold onto herself in the process.
