H. P. Blavatsky; A Great Betrayal

Written in the early 20th century, 'H. P. Blavatsky; A Great Betrayal' by Alice Leighton Cleather critically examines the Theosophical Society and its leadership, particularly focusing on Annie Besant, Blavatsky's successor. Cleather argues that Besant's actions diverge from Blavatsky's original teachings, especially regarding morality and ethics. The book highlights the moral decline within the Society following Blavatsky's death and defends her legacy against perceived betrayals by those in power, including C. W. Leadbeater, a controversial figure in the movement. Cleather's work serves as both a critique and a call to uphold the true principles of Theosophy.
