Grimm Tales Made Gay

What happens when you give Grimm's darkest fairy tales a Victorian wit transplant? Carryl, writing in the early 1900s, transforms blood-soaked classics into sparkling verse comedies that skewer virtue, vanity, and the absurd logic of "happily ever after." Cinderella doesn't win through inner beauty but through being the prettiest. Red Riding Hood gets a twist you'll never see coming. Each tale unfolds in clean rhyming couplets, complete with puns that land like tiny theatrical gags and morals so wicked they almost (almost) redeem the original cruelty. This is comfort reading for the cynically inclined, poetry that refuses to take itself seriously while quietly dissecting everything humans pretend to believe about goodness and deserved endings. Perfect for anyone who suspects the original stories had teeth and wants to see those teeth gleam in the light of day.
