Geordie's Tryst: A Tale of Scottish Life

The Scottish countryside comes alive in this tender Victorian novel about one woman's search for purpose. Grace Campbell has returned to her aunt's estate Kirklands, but rather than settle into comfortable retirement, she feels called to something more. On a blustery spring day, she ventures into the valley determined to find children in need - despite warnings from those who think such work unsuitable for a lady of her station. What she finds is Geordie Baxter, a spirited herd boy whose poverty hides a fierce intelligence and loyalty. Through their unlikely friendship, Grace begins to build something transformative - not just for Geordie and his young sister Jean, but for herself. The novel traces how compassion, when wielded with conviction, can reshape lives and communities. This is a book about the radical act of caring for the vulnerable, wrapped in the mossy hills and salt air of rural Scotland. It will appeal to readers who cherish stories of quiet heroism, personal transformation, and the belief that one person can make a difference.
