Galactic Ghost

In the cold silence between stars, something drifts. A ship without crew, a legend among the doomed: the Galactic Ghost, doomed to wander forever through the emptiness, haunting those who have been cast out into the void. This 1940s pulp novella captures something that much of science fiction forgets: the crushing weight of isolation, the terror of being forgotten in a universe too vast to care. The story weaves through the legend of this spectral vessel and the desperate souls who encounter it, or become part of its myth. Kubilius writes with the existential urgency of his era, exploring what happens to the human mind when faced with infinite space and finite hope. The ghost ship becomes both literal haunting and metaphor for the loneliness that follows those who venture too far from everything they've known. For readers who crave the strange, melancholic beauty of golden age SF, who want their space opera with a dose of cosmic dread, this is a compact, haunting meditation on isolation, mortality, and the stories we tell ourselves to survive the dark.
