Elbeszélések

In a bustling Hungarian provincial town, Gombos Bálint runs a thriving shop that feeds the local community. He is a man of simple ambitions and generous heart, content in his belief that his marriage brings him peace and prosperity. But beneath the cheerful facade of his establishment, mounting debts spiral out of control, fed by his wife's extravagant tastes and, worse, her secrets. Gombos sees only what he wishes to see: a devoted spouse, a manageable situation, a future as bright as the morning light. As the noose of financial ruin tightens and the truth of his wife's infidelity seeps through the cracks of his denial, Gombos faces a devastating reckoning. Csiky crafts a piercing portrait of a man destroyed not by malice, but by his own desperate refusal to see what everyone else perceives. This is tragedy in its purest form: a good man unwinding because he cannot face reality, marching toward doom with a smile.
