Die Novellen Um Claudia

Die Novellen Um Claudia, written by Arnold Zweig and first published in 1917, is a novel structured as a series of interconnected stories. It follows the complex relationship between Claudia Eggeling, a cultured young woman, and Walter Rohme, a socially awkward lecturer, as they navigate love, societal expectations, and personal identity amidst the backdrop of early 20th-century Germany. The work, influenced by Nietzsche and Freud, gained significant popularity during the Weimar Republic and reflects the emotional struggles of a generation shaped by the First World War.
