Dead World

Dead World is a science fiction novel by Jack Douglas, written in the early 1960s. Set in a future where the United Galaxies have abolished war, it follows Commander Red Stone and his Free Company as they escort a mining mission to the dead planet Nova-Maurania. The story explores themes of identity, survival, and the pursuit of dreams, particularly through the character of Yuan Saltario, a refugee determined to revive his icy home. The narrative culminates in a critical decision that could alter the fate of those seeking a new beginning among the stars.
