Chemical History of A Candle

Chemical History of A Candle
The Chemical History of a Candle is a series of six lectures delivered by Michael Faraday in 1848, aimed at a young audience. In these lectures, Faraday uses the simple act of a candle burning to explore fundamental concepts of chemistry, including combustion and the composition of air and water. Notably, the final lecture, 'On Platinum,' discusses a novel method for producing large quantities of platinum and was presented at the Royal Institution in 1861. This work is celebrated for its educational value and its role in the Royal Society's Christmas Lectures.
