Catena Aurea (Gospel of St. Luke - Part 2)

The 'Catena Aurea' (Golden Chain) is a compilation by Saint Thomas Aquinas, created in the 13th century, that presents commentaries from over eighty early Church Fathers, including St. John Chrysostom, St. Jerome, and St. Augustine, on the Gospel of St. Luke. Commissioned by Pope Urban IV, this work aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Gospels through the insights of these theologians, structured as a dialogue on each verse. It reflects Aquinas's deep familiarity with early Christian thought and serves as a valuable resource for theological study.
