Captain Peabody
Captain Arthur Peabody commands a starship but cannot command himself. Fear has made him hollow, and every crew member knows it. When the notorious Oscar Resnick, a man who rose to power through cruelty and manipulation, begins to openly challenge Peabody's authority, the captain faces an unbearable choice: remain a figurehead or become the leader his crew desperately needs. Set against the cold void of space, this 1959 tale strips away the technology to reveal something rawer: the battle between a man's self-doubt and his desire to be worthy of the rank he holds. Rog Phillips understood that the most dangerous frontier isn't the stars, it is the distance between who we are and who we wish to be.
