BLAST No. 1
BLAST No. 1, published on June 20, 1914, is the inaugural issue of the Vorticist movement's magazine, edited by Wyndham Lewis. This publication features the Vorticist Manifesto and includes contributions from notable figures such as Ford Madox Hueffer and Rebecca West, showcasing early British abstract art through illustrations by artists like Edward Wadsworth and Jacob Epstein. The magazine aimed to embrace modernity and abstraction, influenced by Cubism and Futurism, but the movement was short-lived due to the outbreak of World War I.
