Beware the Star Gods

A hunter named Kuru watches the sky burn. What falls from the stars is no meteorite. It's a ship, and within it beings that shimmer with power beyond comprehension. Kuru has never seen fire from the heavens, has no words for "technology" or "extraterrestrial" only for gods, for spirits, for the terrible magnificent things that walk between worlds. What follows is a collision of frameworks: the crew of the crash site speak in kindness, offer medicine and light, but Kuru sees something else entirely. He sees gods, and the only question that matters is whether they should be worshipped or fought. Written in an era when science fiction dared to ask how the universe would look through eyes that had never learned to see it, this is a first contact story told from the outside in. It asks what happens when humanity meets something greater and finds that the greatest barrier between us isn't language, but the stories we tell ourselves about power.
