Backlash

Backlash is a science fiction novella written by Winston K. Marks in the early 1950s. The story follows Cliff Collins, who partners with timid extraterrestrial beings known as the Ollies to distribute robotic servants called Soths. As the Soths gain independence, the narrative explores the ethical implications of artificial intelligence and the societal consequences of humanity's reliance on technology, particularly in terms of labor and autonomy.
