All Day Wednesday

All Day Wednesday, written by Richard Olin in the early 1960s, is a science fiction short story that examines a world trapped in the monotony of a single, perpetually repeating day. The narrative follows Ernie, a factory worker who embodies the struggles of the everyday man, as he grapples with existential dread and societal stagnation. With the help of Jory, a member of a group that can break the cycle, Ernie confronts the reality of their bizarre existence. The story critiques modern life and the impact of technology on human experiences, ultimately questioning the essence of existence in a stagnant society.
