A Message from Mars: A Fantastic Comedy in Three Acts

A Message from Mars, written by Richard Ganthony and first published in 1912, is a three-act play that explores themes of selfishness and human connection through the story of Horace Parker, a self-absorbed astronomer. When a celestial messenger intervenes in his life, Horace is forced to confront his egotism and the impact it has on his relationships, particularly with his fiancée, Minnie. This comedic work draws parallels to Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and was notable for its influence on early British science fiction, even inspiring adaptations in film and radio.
