Fred Waite, also known as Frederick Tecumseh 'Dash' Waite, was a notable figure in the American West, recognized for his early life as a cowboy and his involvement with the infamous Billy the Kid. Born into the Chickasaw Nation, Waite ventured out to the New Mexico Territory, where he worked as a ranch hand for John Tunstall. It was during this time that he became associated with Billy the Kid and joined the Regulators, a group of vigilantes seeking justice in the tumultuous Lincoln County War. However, after a brief period of criminal activity, Waite chose to leave the gang and return to his roots in the Chickasaw Nation. Upon his return, Waite transitioned to a more settled life, marrying and establishing a ranching career. His commitment to his community led him to enter politics, where he served as a legislator in the Chickasaw Nation government. Waite's political career was marked by significant roles, including serving as Speaker of the House and later as Attorney General. His legacy is one of transformation, moving from the lawlessness of the frontier to a respected position within his community, reflecting the complexities of life in the American West during a time of great change.
“You're getting to be a big boy; and while I'm gone, you'll be the man of the family. I want you to act like one. You take care of Mama and Little Arliss. You look after the work and don't wait around for your mama to point out what needs to be done. Think you can do that?””
“Deep within each of us is a spark of the divine just waiting to be used to light up a dark space.””
“You don’t make money by trading, you make it by sitting.” It takes patience to wait for the trade to develop, for the opportunity to present itself. Let the market come to you, instead of chasing the market. Chart patterns are very accurate. They have proven their accuracy and predictability time and time again, but you have to wait for them to develop.””
