Women of India

Published in 1920, 'Women of India' by Otto Rothfield is a historical account that examines the roles and experiences of women in India, shaped by cultural, social, and religious influences. The book highlights the lives of women across different classes, from aristocrats to working-class individuals, and discusses their strengths and societal expectations. Rothfield references ancient texts to categorize women based on attributes and contrasts these ideals with the realities faced by women in contemporary Bombay, particularly focusing on the significance of marriage in their lives.
