William, An Englishman is a novel by Cicely Hamilton, published in 1919. It examines the impact of World War I on a married couple against the backdrop of rising Socialism and the Suffragette movement. The book is notable for its passionate critique of war and won the first Prix Femina-Vie Heureuse Anglais prize in 1920. It was originally published by Skeffington & Son and later reprinted by Persephone Books in 1999.
