Vampiro, originally titled 'La dama pálida,' is a short story by Alexandre Dumas published in 1849 as part of his collection 'Les Mille et un fantômes.' Set in the Carpathian Mountains during the conflict between Russia and Poland, the narrative follows two brothers who fall in love with the same woman, leading to one brother's death and subsequent return as a vampire.
