The Scarecrow of Oz, published in 1915, is the ninth book in L. Frank Baum's Oz series. It follows Trot and Cap'n Bill as they journey to the magical Land of Oz, where they team up with the Scarecrow to defeat the villainous King Krewl of Jinxland. This novel, Baum's personal favorite, draws inspiration from his 1914 silent film, His Majesty, the Scarecrow of Oz, and features themes of friendship, bravery, and adventure in a whimsical setting. Trot and Cap'n Bill previously appeared in Baum's The Sea Fairies and Sky Island.
