The Plymouth Express Affair

A wealthy young woman is found dead in a first-class compartment on the Plymouth Express, her throat cut, her fortune gone. The police suspect a robbery gone wrong, but Hercule Poirot suspects something far more sinister. When the famous Belgian detective begins pulling at the threads of this case, he discovers that beneath the polished surface of English society lies a tangle of secrets, passion, and calculated betrayal. With a cast of suspects that includes a grief-stricken husband, a mysterious fellow passenger, and the victim's own family, Poirot must unravel the truth before the killer escapes into the night. First published in 1924 and later expanded into The Mystery of the Blue Train, this is Christie at her most elegant: a perfectly constructed puzzle box of murder, motive, and the terrible price of love.
