The Perpetual Curate
In the idyllic (and gossipy) Victorian town of Carlingford, Frank Wentworth, the titular Perpetual Curate, finds his comfortable life upended by a new, rigid Rector. Tasked with ministering to the working-class poor, Frank's earnest efforts and burgeoning romance with the compassionate Miss Wodehouse are jeopardized not only by clerical politics but by the inconvenient re-emergence of long-buried family secrets. As skeletons tumble from the closets of the Wodehouses, the Elsworthys, and even his own eccentric aunts, Frank is entangled in a web of scandal that threatens to unravel his career and reputation entirely.
