The Influence of Greek Ideas and Usages Upon the Christian Church

The Influence of Greek Ideas and Usages Upon the Christian Church, published in 1897 by Edwin Hatch, examines the significant impact of Greek philosophy and culture on early Christianity. Hatch analyzes the transition from the ethical teachings of Jesus to the more structured dogmas of the Nicene Creed, emphasizing the necessity of understanding the Greek intellectual context of the time. The work provides a critical exploration of how existing ideas shaped the evolution of Christian beliefs and practices during the formative years of the church.
