The Clan Fraser in Canada: Souvenir of the First Annual Gathering

Published in 1894 for the first annual gathering of Clan Fraser in Toronto, this book weaves together military valor, genealogical pride, and the particular ache of diaspora. Alexander Fraser documents the journey of the Frasers from the Scottish Highlands to Canadian soil, tracing the famous Fraser's Highlanders through their celebrated military engagements and the establishment of their new life abroad. The text serves both as historical record and as a rallying cry, intended to gather scattered clan members and preserve knowledge that might otherwise vanish into the fog of assimilation. For readers drawn to the romance of Scottish identity, the complicated legacy of Highland regiments, or the ways immigrant communities maintained tribe loyalty in a new world, this snapshot of late-Victorian clan sentiment offers a window into a world where bloodlines mattered deeply and the past was carried across oceans.
