When a disembodied head turns up in a remote corner of England, the formidable Mike Brixan of the Foreign Office is recalled from his European sabbatical to hunt down the notorious killer dubbed “The Headhunter.” His investigation plunges him into the eccentric world of a motion picture set on a secluded English manor in Chichester. Amidst the theatrical chaos, Brixan uncovers a tangled web connecting the film's enigmatic scriptwriter to both the elusive Headhunter and a morally dubious neighbor with a penchant for exotic animals, questionable pastimes, and a keen eye for young women. The deeper Brixan digs, the more he realizes that beneath the bucolic surface lies a sinister conspiracy involving missing persons, blackmail, and murder.
