Seasons

The Seasons is a collection of four long poems in blank verse by Scottish poet James Thomson, published in 1730. Each poem—'Spring,' 'Summer,' 'Autumn,' and 'Winter'—vividly depicts the beauty of nature and explores the relationship between humans and the natural world, foreshadowing Romantic ideals. Thomson's work earned him acclaim as one of the foremost descriptive poets of his time, with 'Spring' initially published in 1728 marking his rise to prominence.
