Poems & Parodies

''Poems & Parodies'' is a collection of poetry by Tom Kettle, first published in 1976, reflecting his experiences during World War I and the cultural landscape of early 20th-century Ireland. The poems explore themes of patriotism, sacrifice, and personal reflection, showcasing Kettle's love for his homeland and his philosophical musings on life and duty. In addition to serious war poetry, the collection includes parodies that highlight Kettle's wit and playful engagement with language. This work captures the complexity of Kettle's thoughts as he navigated love, loss, and the realities of conflict.
