Peg O' My Heart

Peg O' My Heart is a play written by John Hartley Manners, first performed in 1912. The story follows the Chichester family, who face financial ruin after a bank failure. Their fortunes change when they learn about a clause in the will of Mrs. Chichester's deceased brother, which promises financial support if his niece, Peg, is educated to become a proper lady. The play explores themes of family, social status, and the transformative power of education.
