Our Master: Thoughts for Salvationists About Their Lord

Bramwell Booth, son of the Salvation Army's founder and its second General, offers this intimate meditation on the life and heart of Christ, written specifically for those who follow the Master. Drawing on decades of spiritual leadership and deep familiarity with hardship, Booth presents a Jesus who is both sovereign and strangely accessible: a ruler whose power flows not from worldly authority but from profound compassion and willingness to share in human suffering. The book moves through Christ's birth, mission, and the radical standards He set for His followers, challenging readers toward authentic rather than performative faith. Booth writes with the urgency of a man who has seen souls saved and lost, arguing that the world desperately needs spiritual leaders who embody rather than merely profess their beliefs. For Salvationists and any reader seeking a devotional portrait of Christ that refuses to soften His hardness or hide His tenderness, this remains a passionate call to deeper discipleship.
