Los Lusíadas

Los Lusíadas, written by Luís Vaz de Camões in the 16th century, is an epic poem that celebrates the voyages and conquests of the early Portuguese Empire, particularly the journey of Vasco da Gama to India. This work is notable for being the first literary text in modern Portuguese and is recognized for its rich exploration of themes such as exploration and national identity. The poem has been translated by Luis Gómez de Tapia and features an introduction by Mario Pineda.
