Hark! The Herald Angels Sing is a Christmas carol that originated in 1739, with lyrics by Charles Wesley and George Whitefield. The carol celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ and is based on biblical passages from Luke 2:8–14. The music was adapted by Felix Mendelssohn in 1840 from his cantata Festgesang, creating a guitar arrangement that is accessible for musicians of all skill levels. This arrangement allows guitarists to perform a beloved holiday classic during seasonal celebrations.
