Greatheart
Published in 1910, 'Greatheart' by Ethel M. Dell follows Dinah, a young woman seeking freedom from her troubled home life during a skiing trip in the Alps with the wealthy de Vigne family. There, she forms a bond with the siblings Eustace, Scott, and Isabel, who each develop feelings for her. The novel explores themes of love and friendship amidst personal struggles, but it also contains issues of race, including anti-Black stereotypes and derogatory language, reflecting the attitudes of its time.
