Geographic Variation in Red-Backed Mice (genus Clethrionomys) of the Southern Rocky Mountain Region

Published in the early 1950s, 'Geographic Variation in Red-Backed Mice' by E. Lendell Cockrum is a scientific examination of the red-backed mice (genus Clethrionomys) in the southern Rocky Mountain region. The book focuses on the geographic variation of these small mammals, identifying unnamed subspecies through extensive research on their physical characteristics, including pelage and cranial measurements. This work contributes to the understanding of mammalian biology and ecological adaptations by providing detailed taxonomic insights based on specimens collected from Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.
