A New Pocket Mouse (genus Perognathus) from Kansas

A New Pocket Mouse (genus Perognathus) from Kansas, published in 1951 by E. Lendell Cockrum, is a scientific work detailing the discovery of a new subspecies of pocket mouse, Perognathus flavus bunkeri. This publication, part of the University of Kansas Publications, describes the mouse's unique morphological traits, including size, coloration, and cranial measurements, while comparing it to related subspecies. The work also discusses the mouse's habitat across regions in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and Oklahoma, and honors the contributions of Charles Dean Bunker to mammalian studies in Kansas.
