Frogs
Frogs is a comedic play by Aristophanes, written in 405 BC, set in ancient Athens during a time of cultural decline following the death of the tragedian Euripides. The story follows Dionysus, the god of theater, who travels to the underworld with his slave Xanthias to retrieve Euripides and restore the quality of drama in Athens. The play is notable for its satirical commentary on contemporary theater and its exploration of the rivalry between Euripides and Aeschylus.
