Clara Vaughan, published anonymously in 1864 by Richard Doddridge Blackmore, is an early detective novel featuring the young heroine Clara Vaughan as both narrator and namesake. The story follows Clara's quest to solve the mystery of her father's murder, which occurred when she was just ten years old. Throughout her journey, she encounters a variety of eccentric characters and navigates adventures and romances, all while dedicating her life to uncovering the truth behind her father's death. Blackmore is better known for his later work, Lorna Doone.
