Charmides
Charmides is a dialogue by Plato, written in the 4th century BCE, that explores the concept of temperance (sophrosyne). In this philosophical work, Socrates engages with Charmides, a young man, to examine the nature of self-control and moderation. The dialogue is notable for its early examination of ethical virtues and has influenced subsequent philosophical thought on virtue ethics.
