Bible (DRV) Apocrypha/Deuterocanon: Book of Tobit (Tobias) (Version 2)
The Book of Tobit, part of the Douay-Rheims Version of the Bible, recounts the story of Tobit, an Israelite living in Nineveh after the Assyrian deportation in 721 B.C. Tobit remains faithful to God and strives to honor the dead through proper burials. His life takes a turn when he is blinded by bird droppings, while in Media, Sarah suffers from the curse of the demon Asmodeus, who kills her husbands. The angel Raphael is sent by God to guide Tobit’s son, Tobias, in overcoming these challenges.
