Across Asia on a Bicycle
Published in 1893, 'Across Asia on a Bicycle' is the travel account of Thomas Gaskell Allen and his college friend, who embarked on a groundbreaking journey covering over 15,000 miles on bicycles. This expedition, the longest continuous land journey around the world at the time, took them through Turkey, Persia, Turkestan, and northern China, exploring regions rarely seen by outsiders. The narrative includes their experiences climbing Mount Ararat and meeting the Chinese Prime Minister, complemented by numerous photographs from their nearly three-year adventure.
