A Straight Deal; Or, the Ancient Grudge

A Straight Deal; Or, the Ancient Grudge is a non-fiction work by Owen Wister, likely written in the early 20th century. The book critically examines historical grievances between the United States and Great Britain, particularly in the context of World War I. Wister advocates for a reconciliatory perspective on Anglo-American relations, arguing that lingering animosities can hinder future cooperation. Through personal experiences and historical narratives, he emphasizes the importance of understanding and reassessing public sentiment towards England, particularly in light of past conflicts like the American Revolution and the War of 1812.
